This policy explains how Aster Events ("we", "us", "our") collects and uses your personal data when you use asterevents.uk, enquire about an event, or book a consultation. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Operator note: confirm the registered company name, number and ICO registration reference before relying on this page for paid advertising. Meta and Google Ads require an accurate, accessible privacy policy.
Who we are
Aster Events is a Cardiff-based event decor studio. For any privacy question, or to exercise your data rights, contact us at astereventsuk@gmail.com. We are the data controller for the information described here.
What we collect
- Enquiry details — name, email, WhatsApp number, event type, date, venue, headcount, budget range and any notes you submit through our enquiry form.
- Booking details — when you book a consultation, your name, email and chosen time, collected via Calendly.
- Technical data — basic, anonymised information your browser sends (such as device type and pages visited) if and when analytics are enabled.
How we use it
- To respond to your enquiry and prepare a written quote.
- To schedule and hold your consultation.
- To deliver your event and stay in contact about it.
- To improve our service and, where you've agreed, to send occasional updates.
Legal basis
We process your data on the basis of your consent (when you submit a form or book a call) and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and running our business. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted processors to run the site and our enquiry flow:
- Formspree — processes enquiry form submissions.
- Calendly — processes consultation bookings.
- Netlify — hosts the website.
- Google — provides our email inbox and calendar.
We never sell your data. We only share it with these processors to the extent needed to provide the service, and they are bound by their own data protection obligations.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and booking data for as long as needed to respond and, if you book, to deliver and account for your event — typically up to two years after your event, after which it is deleted. You can ask us to delete it sooner.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct or delete it;
- object to or restrict how we use it;
- withdraw consent at any time;
- request a copy of your data in a portable format.
To exercise any of these, email astereventsuk@gmail.com. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
The site uses only essential cookies needed to function, plus any set by the embedded Calendly booking widget. We do not run advertising or tracking cookies without your consent. If analytics are added later, this policy will be updated and consent sought where required.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the latest version.
